Bondage

Bondage means in the broadest sense the fixation of a partner by bondage for erotic, aesthetic or somatosensory stimulation. Ropes, cuffs, adhesive tape, handcuffs or other restrictions can be used for this purpose. Anything that can be used to immobilize the partner can be applied to part or all of the body of the naked or clothed person. In the field of BDSM, bondage is considered an erotic-aesthetic practice and, in certain variants, also serves as a ceremonial element in dominant or sadomasochistic role-playing games. The term itself cannot be equated with sadomasochism. Rather, it is often used as a purpose in itself. Although sexuality and eroticism are an important aspect of this practice, only aesthetics can be the reason. A common reason for this practice is that both partners enjoy taming and enjoy the feeling of temporary transfer of control and power either as an active or passive person. The pleasure can be either purely visual, depending on the inclination, or, especially for the passive person, can increase pleasure due to helplessness and exposure. Although these practices have only recently been described in popular science works on sexuality, the desire to be captivated is widespread and has been known since antiquity. This is proved by numerous pictures from this time with seemingly erotic intention. Why do some people feel so attracted to bondage? The most frequently mentioned reason is the release of inhibitions and responsibility. The feeling of letting go promotes the pleasure of a carefree eroticism and has a stimulating effect for many. As a sadomasochistic element, the physical sensation of bondage can also have a stimulating effect: the pressure of the bondage, the inability to move, the symbolic reduction, even the friction or abrasion of a rope can have a stimulating effect. Bondage can overlap with other areas of BDSM or be used in addition to them. Due to the variety of forms, different types are subdivided based on their motivation. Purpose bondage is the most widespread in BDSM and its purpose is to make the partner accessible to subsequent practices. In ornamental bondage, bondage serves a decorative purpose, for example to prepare the partner as an aesthetic object for erotic photographs. Torture bondage deliberately places the partner in an uncomfortable or painful position in order to punish him within the framework of a dominant / submissive role play. The use of bondage for meditative purposes comes from Asia. In Japan this practice is known as Shibari. Here the mental state of the passive person is the focus of interest. An aggravated variation is the autobondage, in which one person takes over the active and passive part. It is a very risky practice, which is popular mainly in the USA. It requires precise knowledge and understanding of the various techniques and prevention.
